About Sam

Version 2

First and foremost I am a mum. I always knew I wanted to be a mum and have always loved kids. When I left school I wanted to follow my passion and work with children, however life got in the way and I found myself working in the hospitality industry for over ten years.

My husband Mike and I met many years ago in this industry and ended up running our own fish and chip shop back in my home town of Port Macquarie. Although the business was very successful, we got sick and tired of the long hours, the responsibility and the zero lack of time freedom. We decided to sell up the business and start a fresh on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland. I personally think it is the most amazing place to live and we feel truly blessed to be able to raise a family here.

I was lucky enough to discover a career I was so passionate about, as a swim instructor, however I became pregnant and gave that all up to do what I have always wanted…I was going to be a full time stay at home mum. Thanks to my hard working husband and an amazing home business opportunity, I was and am still able to be at home full time with my adorable kids. Jack is four and Jasmine is two and they keep me busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I also have four step kids…well young adults now who are living all over the world, chasing their dreams and achieving many wonderful things.

My other passion is travel. When I became a parent, all travel pretty much stopped. Other than a few trips back home, we didn’t really go anywhere. We were shown an amazing travel opportunity by some friends back at the start of 2015 and we haven’t stopped traveling since. It has been the most amazing ride and our kids are getting to experience so many different cultures and ways of life. People think that we are a little crazy taking so many trips with young kids but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Life is amazing.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog. My aim is to inspire you, share tips and parenting ‘wins’ with you and hopefully I don’t offend you with any of my posts, as it is never my intention. As mums we tend to be highly sensitive and my parenting style is a little left of centre, so although we all don’t have to agree, we should all be kind to one another and I will try my best to think of that when writing.

Until next time,
